Peter Michael Gumpel is a figurative water-colorist recording what he sees  but going beyond simple documentation. He uses factual rendition as a stimulus to create images that capture the essence of the scene or person. As a trained architect he is fascinated by light, shadow, perspective and the resulting volumetric impact on the subject.
